In December 2018, I went to an Advent service. No sermon; just songs and readings, all connected with light. One of the readings was Numbers 24:17 – an obscure verse about the Star that would come out of Jacob. Behind me, I heard someone whisper: “I don’t understand!” and no wonder, because no one had connected it with Jesus or the season we were in, so an idea came. I wanted to explain, in simple terms, the story of the Old Testament and how it pointed to Jesus.
I did explain, by writing “Christmas: God’s Promise Kept” – 25 short daily devotionals for Advent. If you have any kind of interest in Christianity, or if you’re similar to me and you like to read an Advent book every December, I hope you’ll consider this one.
